Various facets of collaboration in art practice are presented through works by Emmanuelle Léonard, Ahmet Öğüt and Redmond Entwistle at GUQO; CUAG features works by Hannah Jickling & Helen Reed, Mikhail Karikis and Kim Waldron. An audio by Émilie Monnet spans both galleries. Re: Working Together / Re: Travailler ensemble took shape as an inter-institutional curatorial experiment that includes practical implications such as working across languages, sharing resources and collaborative authorship.
UPRISING: THE POWER OF MOTHER EARTH — Christi Belcourt — A Retrospective with Isaac Murdoch
A National Touring Exhibition co-produced by Thunder Bay Art Gallery and CUAG
This is the first retrospective of the renowned Michif (Métis) artist’s work. Uprising: The Power of Mother Earth traces Belcourt’s practice from its beginnings in the early 1990s to the present, concluding with recent works made with Isaac Murdoch, an Anishinaabe knowledge keeper and emerging visual artist.

kahntinetha Horn just might be one of the first modern-day Indigenous celebrities. This exhibition is a snapshot of the years she spent in the eye of the storm, as an Indigenous celebrity, fashion model and activist in the 1960s.
